Upon arrival at Ngurah Rai International Airport be greeted by the expedition leader and young explorer guides before transferring to the hotel for check-in.
(Note: Mineral water and cold towels will be provided on board the vehicle throughout the trip.)


Enjoy some free time after checking in.


This evening, enjoy a welcome dinner at Indus Restaurant. Indulge in free flow house wine and local beer for the adults and soft drinks or selected juices for the children.

Breakfast at hotel


Head out for a beautiful morning ride to explore rice paddies around Ubud. The scenery may look familiar as this was the location in which the movie ‘Eat, Pray, Love’ was shot.


Make a stop to visit UNESCO World Heritage sites, Tirta Empul Temple and Mengening Temple, along the Pakerisan River. Historian and local expert Mr. Enong Ismail, will tell you all about the history of Hinduism in Bali. Using the local subak system, this holy spring is also the source of irrigation for all the surrounding villages.


Stop for a local lunch at a local restaurant before cycling to central Ubud to visit the Monkey Forest Temple, a lush nature reserve and temple complex on the outskirts of Ubud. The forest is home to more than one hundred species of trees, a number of interesting temples and hundreds of crab-eating macaque monkeys. Spend a while observing their characteristics and mannerisms before heading back to your accommodation.


Note:
- Mr. Enong will not be cycling with the group.
- The macaque monkeys here can be a considerable annoyance. Please heed your guide’s advice on the precautions you should take when visiting temples or forests inhabited by monkeys.
Enjoy the rest of the day at leisure or join one of the optional activities.


Optional : Sights of Bali on a Helicopter
As the sunsets, experience a flight over Bali's famous coastline, highlighting the beautiful white sandy beaches.   Wind down your day with panoramic views of Tanah Lot Temple, the famous Kuta Beach, Jimbaran Bay, Dreamland Surf Break, Uluwatu Temple and the spectacular cliffs and seaweed farms of Bali's southern Peninsula.

Head to the nearby village, Mas, one of the biggest wood carving industry in Bali.
Upon arrival at Ibu Kayun House, partake in a 30-minute carving class. Using wax as a beginner, learn all about the Balinese technique of carving, the local craft and traditions.


Lunch at local restaurant in Mas Village.


Return to the hotel after lunch.
There is an option for some family members to take part in a Traditional Balinese Cooking Class or join a Balinese Offering-Making Lesson. The cooking class will be held at the lunch venue while the offering making lesson is a short transfer from the hotel.


Enjoy the rest of the day at leisure.


Option 1: Balinese Offering Making Lesson
In the afternoon, take a short transfer to ARMA for  your Balinese Offering Making Lesson. The Balinese Offering called ‘Canang Sari,’ is a part of the daily ritual of Balinese activities particularly carried out by Balinese women. The ornament is made from using young coconut leaf. You will be guided by Balinese girls from cutting the coconut leaf and designing the ornament.
The lesson will be approximately two hours long.
For the family members who opt to do the Balinese Offering Making Lesson, dinner will be served at the hotel around 19:00.

Option 2: Traditional Balinese Cooking Class (D)
Meet the local chef for a short briefing on the day’s program. In this traditional Balinese kitchen, get the opportunity to learn about the techniques of Balinese cooking under the guidance of a local Chef. Learn how to prepare Balinese signature dishes, using traditional techniques and familiarise with fresh herbs, spices, and other ingredients that make Balinese food delightfully tasty.
In the evening, enjoy a delicious early dinner from the food made before. 
The class is approximately two hours long.

Rest early and recharge for an early morning Batur trek.

There is an option to either take part in some adventurous outdoor activities in the morning, or spend the morning at leisure before the afternoon’s fun activity with the local children.


The options for the morning activities are as follows:


Option 1: Batur Sunrise Trekking (L)


Begin the morning super early, around 03:00 and depart to the starting point at the base of Mount Batur. Known to be the first National Geopark in Indonesia, Mount Batur is the ‘perfect’ volcano for the family to see. The area is rich in plants and wildlife and there are some monkeys living around the crater.


Local guides will be standby for a welcome. After the safety briefings, equipment check and safety measures in place. The first park of the walk is through plenty of volcanic ash, sand and small rocks. The pathway is mostly uphill but there are several opportunities to stop and rest.


After reaching the peak at around 06:00, witness the stunning sunrise over Mount Abang and Mount Agung. On clear days it is even possible to view Lombok’s Mount Rinjani in the distance across the Lombok Strait. A simple breakfast with hot coffee or tea will be served while enjoying the view.


Continue on foot to another rim of the crater before making the descent. Back on ground, meet the driver and transfer to the Lake View restaurant for a buffet lunch. There will be rooms available for a quick shower and change of clothes.


Afterwards, take a short transfer to Subak Guliang for the afternoon activity.

Option 2: Ayung White Water Rafting(L)
Be picked up from the hotel to be driven to the river.
The rafting guides will be on standby to greet you and brief you on today’s rafting activity. Safety measures and all equipment will be provided. The guides will then explain and demonstrate paddling techniques. A waterproof bag will be provided to protect your valuables and dry clothes.


Then it’s time to start paddling! Raft for about 1 hour 30 minutes covering a 10-kilometer stretch on the Ayung River. There will be a rest stop at the halfway point. The scenery is truly breathtaking, ranging from gorges and waterfalls to lush farms. Local villagers can also be seen going about their daily life.


Be treated to a buffet Indonesian lunch in a nearby restaurant with stunning views. There are shower and toilet facilities available. Return to the hotel after lunch to regroup for the afternoon activity.


Note: We recommend wearing shorts and swimming gear, hat and sunscreen. Bring a change of clothes for after the rafting. Unless continuing another program after the rafting – it is recommended to leave your valuables in the hotel safe. Showers and changing rooms are available, and plastic bags for wet clothes are supplied.

This afternoon (approximately 14:00) a fun activity will be held in a tranquil area of Bangli village. The local children will join you for an unforgettable activity. Interact with them using basic English. Most of the children at this village join an English lesson every weekend. The teachers are volunteers from some travel agencies or are local experts of the area. It’s a great opportunity to learn Bahasa (Indonesian language). This would be a fun activity for the children who would learn new words with a little laughter along the way. 


Interactive games like ice breakers, a farming activity and traditional games will be played. A traditional snack followed by coffee or tea will be served to complete this fun afternoon.


At around 19:00, dinner will be held at the same place. Enjoy authentic Balinese cuisine with the locals.


There will also be prizes for the winners, announced before dinner.


After dinner, return to the hotel

Enjoy the morning time as leisure until your guide meets you at the hotel’s lobby (approximately at 08:30) for a journey to the mesmerizing rice terrace of Jatiluwih. It’s a UNESCO heritage listed site where you will take a leisurely 1-hour trek through the terracing rice fields learning about the subak style of rice production in Bali.

Dug your canoe, the goal attractively the most picturesque temple in Bali – Ulun Danu Temple. This important Hindu Shivaite water temple is located on a small jut of land within the calm waters of Lake Beratan. If the water level is high (normally only during the rainy season) it gives the illusion that this 17th century temple is ‘floating’ on the lake. You will get closer to the temple by canoe.

Continue to the secret spot of Bedugul rain forest,  located in a lush green forest area. Trekking through the jungle to observe the tropical vegetation such as orchids, medicine plantations and many more. The guide will escort you to the depths of Balinese heart. 

A sumptuous picnic lunch in the jungle became our final leg for today. 

(*) Please note the rice terraces are often wet and slippery and we recommend footwear with good grip.

In the late afternoon, continue the tour to Pemuteran, the last stop on this exciting tour.


Arrive at the hotel in Pemuteran and proceed check-in and enjoy the rest of the day at leisure.


Dinner is served at the hotel at around 19:00.

There are two options:


Option 1: Menjangan Snorkeling
Put on a lifejacket and take a motorised boat to Menjangan Island. Snorkel and explore the diverse marine life. There are two sites - the first snorkeling stop is at a mangrove point. Admire the beautiful coral reef garden with schools of fishes and other creatures such as electric clams, scorpion fish, starfish, eels and some large reef fishes.


Enjoy some snacks and refreshments at the beach area.


Continue snorkelling for more one hour to get to the sandy slope coral garden. If the weather permits, get to see the beautiful coral garden just beside the Menjangan Temple.
Return to the mainland and enjoy the rest of the day at leisure.

Option 2: Safari Tour at West Bali National Park
This tour discovers the wildlife found in the depth of West Bali National Park.


Situated along the western coast of Prapat Agung, it is home to many varieties of Bali Barat species, making this peninsula the main zone of the wildlife conservation. Keep a lookout for several wildlife species such as the black macaque, macaque monkey, barking deer, wild pig, wild cat, giant lizard, green junglefowl, eagles, owls and many many more.


Then drive to Tegal Bunder to see the Bali Starling Sanctuary.  Locally known as ‘Jalak Bali’, it is one of the endangered birds in Indonesia. An expert of the sanctuary will share on the efforts to save this unique species, native to Bali.


Return to the hotel after this tour.

Take a relaxing cycle downhill from the Pupuan rice fields to Belimbing and admire the breathtaking view of many rice terraces.


Arrive in Belimbing village and stop by a nearby temple. With some luck, the holly monkey may be spotted coming out of the forest.


Lunch will be provided at Cempaka Belimbing.


Continue by car to the hotel. Upon arrival, proceed to the check-in and enjoy the rest of the day at leisure.


Tonight, dinner is free and easy.

Option 1 : Castaway Cruise to Nusa Penida
Cruise from Bali to Nusa Penida on a catamaran and go snorkelling in crystal clear waters. Enjoy a barbecue on a deserted beach. All this and a lot more in to experience life of the islanders in the tropics.


Pick up at 08:00 and be brought to Benoa Harbour from where The Aristocat, a 64ft catamaran departs.
There will be drinks and snacks served during the 1.5-hour cruise. Decide on the activities on offer like kayaking, beach volleyball, snorkelling and a village tour or simply spend the day sunbathing on the yacht.


Note: All water activities in Nusa Penida depends on the weather condition and our guide will advice if water activity is possible according to sea conditions.


After a fun beach day, sail back to the main island and arrive at the hotel around 16.00

At 08:00 be picked up by the guide and driver for today’s visit to Denpasar. Starting with the famous Badung market, find a wide variety of spices and herbs and learn about Indonesian delicacies. Have a taste of some exotic tropical fruits.


Walk a short distance to a typical Chinese coffee shop. Have a freshly brewed coffee on the house or spend some money to try the famous Kopi Luwak.


Visit Museum Bali to see a wide selection of archeological finds such as weapons and sculptures. There is also a variety of paintings and textiles, instruments and theatrical masks at adjacent buildings.


Visit another nearby museum, Bajra Sandi War Museum where there are several exhibits about different wars leading to Indonesia’s independence.


Return to the hotel.
