Indonesia Tour - Bali Eco Harmony - 10 Days / 9 Nights

DAY 1 - Arrival Denpasar – Mt Batukaru Eco Lodge , Tabanan

Arrive at Ngurah Rai International Airport in Denpasar in the afternoon, greeted by the local guide and driver, and transfer to an eco-lodge nestled high on the Eastern Slopes of Mt Batukaru, Bali's second tallest volcano (2,276m).

Check into the eco lodge and spend the remainder of the day at leisure. Explore the area independently or do nothing at all while relaxing at the lodge.

Dinner at leisure.

DAY 2 - Downhill Cycling – Jatiluwih – Batukaru Temple – Tabanan MealsMEALS [B|L]

After breakfast in the morning, hop on a bicycle and head out from the lodge on a nice mostly downhill ride along scenic roads and through traditional villages. See plantations and people working in rice fields, and have sweeping views over outstretched valleys. The ride ends at Yeh Panas Hot Springs, where a simple picnic lunch is served. As the guide will be bringing along a towel, be sure to take a dip in the relaxing hot springs (no changing rooms are available).

After continuing on with the ride, make as many stops as desired. The total ride length is between three and four hours.

After lunch at Bali Mountain Retreat, be picked up by the guide and driver and head to the nearby UNESCO listed site of Jatiluwih. Here, enjoy an incredible panoramic view of Bali’s iconic rice terraces.

Located on a slope near the holy mountain of Batukaru, this area is known as the Rice Granary of Bali, and is one of the best examples of subak-style rice farming in Bali. There will also be a visit to one of Bali’s nicest but least visited temples, Batukaru Temple.

After a fruitful day of exploring, return to the eco lodge.

The remainder of the day is free at leisure.

DAY 3 - Tabanan – Jungle Trek – Pupuan – Bunut Bolong – PekutatanMealsMEALS [B|L]

After breakfast, depart with a local guide from Bali Mountain Retreat for three to four hours trekking in the Batukaru Nature Reserve. This jungle mountain forest walk is designed for people who want to immerse themselves in the natural beauty of the protected mountain forest. Being south-facing, the onshore winds give this area a high annual rainfall which results in incredibly lush green vegetation. The flora and fauna one encounters here, which is now protected, is among the most diverse and abundant anywhere on the island of Bali. All who visit this area are amazed at its beauty -it’s a truly wonderful hiking experience.

The guide will point out amazing plant life, beautiful butterflies and, if luck should allow it, monkeys and the Kijang deer as well.

Afterwards, return to the eco lodge.

Check out and enjoy lunch at the lodge’s restaurant.

Early in the afternoon, leave the Bali Mountain Retreat and proceed with the guide and private driver to the western coast of Bali, known for its deserted black-sand beaches.

Drive through beautiful scenic roads and stunning rice fields via Belimbing and Pupuan. The drive traverses verdant hills and valleys following small off-the-beaten-path roads down to Pekutatan and the West Coast. Stop along the way, in Bunut Bolong, to check out an incredibly unique and massive hollow tree that the road passes through.

Reach Pekutatan and check in at the hotel in the late afternoon -just in time to enjoy a spectacular sunset over the west coast.

DAY 4 - Pekutatan – Perancak Estuary – West Bali National Park MealsMEALS [B|L]

After breakfast, leave Pekutatan and drive to Perancak Estuary, with a stop on the way to visit Rambut Siwi Sea Temple. Continue with a visit to a turtle conservation project which seeks to reinstate these graceful endangered animals to their former glory. From here we walk to the nearby port for a look at the colourful phinisi ships that can only be found in Bugis Village.

Continue to the North via Negara and reach West Bali National Park. Upon arrival in the area, check into the hotel.

A late lunch will be served at The Menjangan.

Afterwards, set off from the resort to explore the surrounding mangroves on a 2-hour kayaking tour of the area’s natural highlights.

DAY 5 - Bali West National Park - Snorkeling Menjangan Island MealsMEALS [B|L]

After breakfast in the morning, go by local boat from the resort and head to the nearby island of Menjangan for an unforgettable snorkelling trip. Hover over thriving coral reefs dancing with vibrantly coloured tropical fish in incredibly translucent water. Equipment and a lunchboxes are provided by the resort.

Return to the hotel and spend the remainder of the day at leisure.

DAY 6 - West Bali National Park - Banjar - Munduk - Bedugul - SidanMealsMEALS [B|L]

After breakfast, check out from the hotel and head with the guide and driver along the north coast of Bali to Seririt and Banjar. Stop along the way for a visit to Bhrama Arama Vihara, the only Buddhist Monastery in Bali, with stunning views over the North coast of the island. 

Continue up to Munduk for lunch at The View restaurant.

From here, drive to Bedugul, and stop at the ‘Twin Lakes’ viewpoint overlooking Lake Tamblingan and Lake Buyan. Take some memorable photos here and then continue to Lake Bratan. Here, visit one of Bali’s most iconic destinations at the incredibly scenic Ulun Danu Temple. Because the temple is located on the lake's waters, it gives visitors the impression that it’s floating.  Explore the well-manicured grounds of this temple, then head to a local market for a look at the incredibly exotic fruits and produce available.

From here, continue driving to Bali Eco Village, located in Sidan near Pelaga.

Check in and spend the remainder of the day at leisure.

DAY 7 - Sekumpul Waterfalls Trekking - Bali Eco Village MealsMEALS [B|L]

After breakfast in the morning, be picked up by the tour guide and driver for spectacular trekking experience to the Sekumpul Waterfalls. The local guide provide safety instructions before starting a four-hour trek across remote rice fields, plantations and, finally, natural pools that will be the perfect place to take a well-earned and incredibly refreshing dip. Conclude the trek at the famous 50-metre waterfall and be sure to take lots of photos. Afterwards, head back to the village by way of concrete stairs that lead through the jungle.


  • Sports shoes, swimsuit and a change of clothes is needed

Return to Bali Eco Village in Sidan.

DAY 8 - Bali Eco Village – All About Coffee – Kintamani – Sidemen Valley MealsMEALS [B|L]

Today, be picked up from Bali Eco Village to learn about and help with the coffee-making process in Kiadan Village in Pelaga. Situated 1,100 meters above sea level, southeast of Mt Mangu, cool and green Kiadan is a world away from the hustle and bustle of the coastal towns. The vegetation here is lush and can be seen stretching away into distant forested mountainsides. Closest to the village, however, the earth is devoted to the village’s ‘brown gold’ coffee.

Upon arriving in the village, be greeted with a cup of organic Pelaga coffee and Balinese snacks.  A local village guide will then introduce each stage of the process of coffee production from picking, drying, roasting and grinding beans to plantation management in general. Along the way, meet the farmers involved in each stage.

A simple lunch is served at a local family home.

After lunch at Lake View Restaurant set off for the next eco-friendly destination in Tabola Village, located in the Sidemen Valley of Eastern Bali.

On the way there, stop for a coffee break in Kintamani, a volcanic region in the shadow of Mt Batur -one of Bali’s most iconic volcanoes. Adjacent to the volcano is the large crescent-shaped Batur Lake, all surrounded by the high walls of the crater rim. Sit back and enjoy the spectacular panoramic views while sipping on a fresh cup of locally-grown coffee.

Afterwards, continue to Tabola Village in Sidemen Valley and check into Darmada Eco Resort.

DAY 9 - Sidemen – Bali Countryside – Besakih – Sidemen MealsMEALS [B|L]

After breakfast, head to Sidemen for an unforgettable and uniquely cultural “Balinese daily life” program. After arriving in the village, be introduced to a local Balinese family and receive a conical had and bamboo stick. These will come in handy on the 1-hour walk through the village’s rice fields that commences shortly after.

After having a proper look around the village, it’s time to take a step in the shoes of a local Balinese farmer. Try ploughing rice fields with with a water buffalo and planting rice seedlings. Be rewarded for this hard work with a cold fresh coconut.

After the farming experience, take part in four short workshops, 20 minutes each: a cooking lesson, offering and palm-leaf decoration, arak (a Balinese rice wine) distillation and iron working.

After a hard day’s ‘work’, settle down and enjoy a proper Balinese lunch served in the village.

After lunch, transfer with the guide and driver to Besakih, known as the ‘Mother Temple’ of Bali. Located on the western slopes of Mt Agung, Bali’s tallest volcano (2,567 m), Besakih is the largest and most important temple on the island and is regularly visited by all Balinese for special ceremonies

Overnight in Darmada Eco Resort. 

DAY 10 - Sidemen - Departure MealsMEALS [B]

After breakfast, spend the rest of the morning relaxing and soaking up the vibes of the resort before heading to the airport or South Bali beach resort for the conclusion to this journey.

  • Our rates are nets and quoted in American dollars (USD), however some services (like transportation, guide fees, entrance fees, some activities,  meals, air tickets and train tickets and sometimes accommodations) are based on local prices in Indonesian Rupiah in (IDR). In the case of a major change in the exchange rate (5% or more) between the Indonesian Rupiah and the American dollar (USD), we reserve the right to correct our quotes to align our rates and revise the value of the American dollar (USD).
  • All rates are based on the current gasoline price. Should the gasoline price increase by more than 10% we would readjust transfer rates with a 30 days prior notice.
  • All timings indicated are estimated only and can vary in high season and ceremonial days.
  • All language guides other than English subject to availability during high season July-September.
  • Additional surcharges, compulsory gala dinners and special conditions may be applied during peak season. Rates and details will be informed in advance.

  • During Nyepi Day, an important religious day in Bali, which falls on 17-Mar-17 and 07-Mar-19, visitors are not allowed to leave the premises of hotels from 06:00 until 06:00 on the following day (24-hour). The airport will not operate any flights and all public activities will cease but hotels will remain operate with limited staff.
  • Note that certain experiences, such as blessings by a priest, the visit of an astrologer, etc. are linked with cultural and social obligations on the side of the providers that may change with very short notice, and thus are always subject to change. Cancellations from the supplier-side with short notice have occurred, and in such cases we would always try to re-schedule the activity or experience.
