Journey into Egypt’s Western Desert to explore the striking landscapes of the White Desert National Park. Itinerary
📍 Cairo Hotel - El Heiz Oasis (350 km): 4 hrs El Heiz Oasis - Shahrazad Camp (200 km): 2 hrs 30 mins
The expedition begins with a morning departure from Cairo, driving approximately 350 km to El Heiz Oasis for lunch and refreshments. Continue into the Black Desert, where mountains and highlands are covered in a dramatic layer of black volcanic powder.
Further exploration leads to Crystal Mountain, locally known as Gebel al-Izzaz, to see the quartzite crystals glistening in the sun. The day concludes at Shahrazad Camp for dinner and an overnight stay amidst the desert silence.

Spend a full day exploring the White Desert National Park, Egypt's most famous desert destination. A leisurely walk through the park reveals hundreds of wind-carved limestone figures resembling animals, mushrooms and tents.
After a day spent marvelling at these natural sculptures and the vast white landscape, return to the camp for a second night under the stars.

After breakfast at the camp, continue towards Bahariya Oasis. Visit the Mummies Hall to see the remarkable Golden Mummies and gain insight into the burial traditions of the Greco Roman period. Next, head to the Bennutti tombs, known for their colourful wall paintings, followed by a stop at Qasr Selim to discover additional ancient tombs carved into the hillside.
Lunch is served before beginning the return journey to Cairo. The drive crosses the vast desert landscapes once more, arriving back at the hotel in the late afternoon.
