Journey from Cairo into Egypt's magnificent western deserts. Discover the lush landscapes of Fayoum Oasis, ancient fossils at Wadi Hitan and dramatic dunes at Magic Lake. Continue past the Black Desert and alien limestone formations of the White Desert, enjoying peaceful desert landscapes and unique natural wonders along the way.
Departure from Cairo for a drive to Fayoum Oasis. A visit to Wadi El Rayan reveals scenic desert waterfalls, followed by a felucca ride on the lake. After a photo stop at Modawara Mountain, exploration continues at the UNESCO World Heritage Site of Wadi Hitan to view ancient whale fossils and inspect the site museum.
Moving on to Magic Lake, a BBQ lunch is enjoyed alongside desert safari driving and sandboarding down soft dunes. The afternoon brings a visit to Tunis village to observe traditional pottery workshops before settling in for dinner.

After breakfast, the journey continues across the desert towards Bahariya Oasis. Following lunch, exploration begins at the Museum of the Golden Mummies, the Tombs of Bannentiu and Qasr Selim. The route then leads into the striking Black Desert, characterised by dark volcanic mountain tops. A stop at Crystal Mountain allows time to admire natural quartzite formations shimmering under the sun.
Arriving at the White Desert National Park, a scenic walk offers views of dramatic wind-carved limestone rock formations before settling into the desert camp for dinner.
