Itinerary

πŸ“ Siem Reap Airport to Siem Reap (8km): 15 mins

Upon arrival at Siem Reap International Airport, the gateway to the majestic temples of Angkor and a charming little city, our travel representative will greet you in the arrivals terminal with a signboard bearing your names. After giving him their passports (passports must be valid for 6+ months after return) along with a passport photo, you will exit the terminal directly after collecting the luggage and clearing customs with the customs forms. After exiting the airport, your local English speaking guide will assist in the transfer to the hotel in the heart of the city.

Siem Reap nestled between rice paddies and stretched along the Siem Reap River, the small provincial capital of Siem Reap Town serves as the gateway to the millennium-old temple ruins of the Khmer Empire. Designated a World Heritage Site by UNESCO, the Angkor Archaeological Park encompasses dozens of temple ruins including Bayon, Banteay Srey and the legendary Angkor Wat.

1500 After a short break in the hotel, pick up by your local guide for introduction tour to our lovely town.
Cambodia is a land of resources, talents, and know-how, from natural wellness and food products to traditional arts and craft skills. We will visit a local enterprise, Satcha, where craftsmen and women find a safe and clean space to work as well as receive training to further hone their talent and grow themselves into artistic entrepreneurs.

Walk through the serene, natural gardens and watch the artists carve stone, wood, weave baskets, paint and more while your guide explains some specific traits about each field of work and how the enterprise supports the Cambodian artists. We will enjoy a cup of coffee while you will also have the opportunity for a little retail therapy if you wish to do so”.

Next you will be transferred to the boat pier of Villa Chandara. Before dinner, take a walk along the terraces or find a private spot for a cocktail seated amidst landscaped spice gardens. A special dinner awaits you at a beautiful place, inaccessible to the tourist crowds. Villa Chandara is a charming private villa located just west of the ancient city of Angkor Thom. 0730 Today after early breakfast in the hotel, we start our first temple exploring in Angkor Archaeological Park by enjoying an early morning visit to the legendary Ta Prohm temple. Built in the mid-12th to early 13th centuries, Ta Prohm is unique in that it has been left largely overgrown by jungle trees and vines, with many parts of the temple crumbling to the ground. This makes Ta Prohm one of the most picturesque and memorable of the Angkor temples. Here, experience the jungle atmosphere at the eerie temple, whilst the first sun rays slowly bring the forest to life. A truly magical experience.

From here, continue to Bayon Temple in the exact center of the city. This 12th century masterpiece is a study in grandeur and is well-known for its 54 towers with enigmatic faces representing the 54 provinces of the Great Khmer Empire. The Terrace of the Elephants and the Terrace of the Leper King are also must-visits as they are both known for their intricate bas-reliefs.

Then enjoy a lunch break at Cambodia’s first farm-to-table restaurant, Lum Orng is located in a village on the edge of Siem Reap, departure point for excursions to Angkor Wat. Here, owner-chef Sothea Seng cooks New Mekong Cuisine from Cambodia and beyond, based on seasonal produce from his farms, local markets, and growers across the region.
Afterward, take some rest in the hotel after lunch if you prefer.

While some wish to visit Angkor Wat at sunrise, which can be a wonderful experience, as the only west-facing temple Angkor Wat is best to visit (and photograph) in the afternoon. Head back to Angkor in the afternoon by Remork, departing the hotel around 14:30. Although the walk across the moat and down the main causeway can be a bit hot, the intricately carved galleries for which the temple is best known are within covered, open-air corridors providing shelter from the heat of the afternoon sun. Ascend the levels to arrive at the uppermost platform before 17:00 when there are far fewer visitors lingering about. Exit the temple with the setting sun shining on the Vishnu image discovered beneath the temple’s central sanctuary — a magical sight to behold and a fitting end to exploring the temple built by King Suryavarman, whose name translates to ‘protected by the sun’.

Return to the town and head to one of the most popular cocktail bar in town, Miss Wong, unlike the hectic tourist bars that line the popular “Pub Street”, Miss Wong is an intimate cocktail lounge where you can enjoy your evening cocktail with the peaceful atmosphere.

After sometime there, we will have a short walk along the riverside to an exclusive fine dining, the Embassy Restaurant where headed by executive chefs Pol and Sok: “the Kimsan Twins”. Having trained under Michelin starred chefs, they have created one of the most unique five-star quality cuisines that can be experienced in Siem Reap. With a constantly changing menu based around seasonality, guests can savour skillfully prepared masterpieces from multiple-course set menus paired with a selection of fine wines.

Return to your hotel after the dinner.

ick up here with a local English speaking guide for your departure flight to Phnom Penh in the morning. The flight takes about an hour (Airfare is listed as additional charge).

Upon arrival in Phnom Penh, transferring directly to a Hotel in Phnom Penh.

Phnom Penh was once considered as one of the most beautiful cities in the Orient, and despite its recent turbulent history, it still retains a colonial charm. Cambodia’s capital is a bustling city, majestically located at the confluence of the mighty rivers of the Mekong and Tonlé Sap. Wide tree-lined boulevards and many colonial-era buildings reflect the glorious days and add to the allure of the city, where Asian and Western traditions meet in a fascinating way.

1400 Learn all about the history and culture of the capital on this guided, half day tour of Phnom Penh. Start with a visit to the Royal Palace, located in the centre of town. The palace was built in 1866 at the end of the French colonial era. Walk through the sprawling compound and learn about the Kingdom’s Royal Family and the role they place in modern Cambodia. Visit the Palace’s Silver Pagoda and admire the 5,000 silver tiles that line the floors. There is also an impressive collection of Buddha images housed in the pagoda.

Continue to the Sosoro Museum of Economy and Money uses currency (or lack thereof) as the thread to tie more than 2000 years of Cambodian history together, using multimedia displays, bank notes and coins, and other informative and engaging displays. Ancient coins found in the earliest Cambodian kingdom of Funan show how the first Khmer civilization hosted trade from as far away as Rome. Explanation of a cashless economy throughout the Angkor era tells how this could have contributed to the decline of the empire. The history continues with examples of colonial currency while Cambodia was a French protectorate, how the Khmer Rouge attempted a communist economy, and how Cambodia finally founded their own currency in the late 20th century! Anyone interested in Cambodian history will find this museum surprisingly fascinating.

Then visit Wat Phnom, the hilltop temple is located on the site where the city was originally established many years ago. From this vantage point, enjoy sweeping views of Phnom Penh and see the mix of old, colonial buildings and gleaming modern structures.

The final stop is the nearby Baldwin Restaurant, founded by Guy Baldwin who is the Master of creating unforgettable dining experiences. Despite recently opening in Phnom Penh city, the restaurant is quickly becoming a hit and is a “must try”. The restaurant promises an unforgettable and unique dining experience with two options of Western menu, an a la carte and a special chef’s tasting menu which can optionally be paired with wine. (Closed on Sunday)
