📍 Siem Reap – Temples (06 km): 10 mins

Rise early for a sunrise, 60-minutes yoga class led by your yoga master. (Note: Depending on the season, sunrise yoga will be replaced by a regular yoga session).

After yoga and breakfast, depart for a first discovery of the Angkor complex by remork.

Start by Ta Prohm, built in honour of King Jayavarman VII’s mother and made famous by Angelina Jolie’s film Tomb Raider, is otherwise best known for the trees and vines growing atop the temple walls. The temple is a perfect example of how nature has crept in and reclaimed its land after the fall of the Angkorian empire.

Continue into Jayavarman VII’s capital city, Angkor Thom, to visit Bayon at the center of the city, built by the last great king of Angkor: Jayavarman VII. Arriving early offers you the best opportunity to stroll around the lower galleries of carvings, which depict fascinating scenes of life at Angkor Thom, with fewer visitors. Take some time to find a quiet spot on the exterior of the temple to appreciate the 52 towers featuring four faces of the Buddha looking out in the cardinal directions.

In the afternoon visit Satchaa, a local enterprise where craftsmen and women find a safe and clean space to work as well as receive training to further hone their talent and grow themselves into artistic entrepreneurs. Cambodia is a land of resources, talents, and know-how, from natural wellness and food products to traditional arts and craft skills

Return to the hotel. Enjoy a luxurious 120-minutes couple ritual at the hotel spa.

Overnight at Phum Baitang, Siem Reap.

📍 Siem Reap – Kampong Kleang (52km): 1hr 25 mins / Siem Reap – Temples (06 km): 10 mins

Start the day by a 60-minutes Pilates class

After, head to the Tonlé Sap Lake. Drive past expansive rice fields and through local villages where rice and fish can frequently be spotted drying alongside the road. Next, board a private wooden vessel for a boat trip along a canal that leads to the Tonle Sap Lake.

In the afternoon, travel by a ’60s-era Mercedes, visit Angkor Wat as former First Lady Jaqueline Kennedy may have. Although the walk across the moat and down the main causeway can be a bit hot, the intricately carved galleries for which the temple are best known are within covered, open-air corridors providing shelter from the heat of the afternoon sun. Ascend the levels to arrive at the uppermost platform before 17:00 when there are far fewer visitors lingering about. Exit the temple with the setting sun shining on the Vishnu image discovered beneath the temple’s central sanctuary — a magical sight to behold and a fitting end to exploring the temple built by King Suryavarman, whose name translates to ‘protected by the sun’.

Then, just as the sun begins to set, enjoy a relaxing cruise in a gondola paddle boat on the moat of Angkor Thom while watching a spectacular sunset over Prasat Chrung temple with delicious canapés and a bottle of bubbly.
