This morning the tour begins at 07:30. Today embark on an authentic rural Cambodia tour to learn about life in a typical village. Meet friendly locals and discover traditional village customs and cultures.

Like most villages in Asia, Ta Brak is busiest in the morning hours. Sit down with a local family and enjoy breakfast (take-away from the hotel) while observing the activities of the village.  By foot, visit the local market. Explore the colourful displays of vegetables, herbs and other locally-grown produce, and mingle with the shoppers who come every morning to buy the fresh ingredients. Continue through the village, providing ample opportunities to stop and chat with locals and to observe their activities. 

Before leaving the village, head to Khmer smokehouse and meet a warm family. Learn the process of smoking fish, discover Cambodian rural life through stories shared amidst fragrant smoke. Over a fresh coconut juice, get to know the family, engage in discussions, and gain a better understanding of the countryside lifestyle in Cambodia. 

Conclude this morning, partake in a special Buddhist tradition. Local monks will impart wishes of good luck and success in a solemn, age-old ceremony.

Then visit a local enterprise, Satcha, where craftsmen and women find a safe and clean space to work as well as receive training to further hone their talent and grow themselves into artistic entrepreneurs.

This evening you will be picked up at 19:30. Enjoy an evening of culture at Phare Cambodian Circus Show. Set up by refugees of the Khmer Rouge era, Phare promotes performing arts as a way to cope with trauma. Over the years they have not only helped hundreds of Cambodians but also helped to promote traditional Khmer culture.

Meet the guide at the hotel lobby at 07:30. Travel by Remork (local transportation similar to Tuk Tuk) to Ta Prohm temple. The temple was made famous by the Angelina Jolie film Tomb Raider. The temple is best known for the trees and vines growing atop the temple walls.

Continue to Angkor Wat and marvel at its grandeur. Take a closer look at the intricately carved gallery walls and learn about the Hindu myths and historic tales they represent. Hear tales of the construction process which took 30 years of intensive labour to complete. See some of the 2000 “Apsara” carvings, each one a unique representation of female guardian spirits adorning the temple walls.

This morning the tour begins at 08:00. Visit Bayon temple which was built by the last great king: Jayavarman VII. Take a stroll around the lower galleries of carvings of Bayon, which depict fascinating scenes of life from the late 11th century, then find a quiet spot on the exterior of the temple to appreciate the 52 towers featuring faces of the Buddha looking out into the jungle around you.

Continue onto Preah Khan, one of the largest temple complexes at Angkor and once containing a population of 97,840 in its service. Upon arrival at the temple, follow a route designed to both avoid the crowds and visit the most fascinating features of the sprawling and labyrinthian temple complex.

This morning the tour begins at 08:00. Hop on a local wooden boat for a private journey through a canal, all the way to Tonle Sap Lake. See what life is like on Southeast Asia’s largest lake. Take a boat trip on Tonle Sap Lake, cruising past quiet waterways. This is a unique opportunity to gain first-hand experience of the way of life of the local people living on stilt houses. 

After a tour of Tonle Sap Lake, visit the Angkor Wildlife and Aquarium (AWA) for a closer look at the lake’s marine ecosystems. The AWA, in cooperation with NGOs and the Cambodian government, plays an active role in conservation by providing educational content about different species and operating an important breeding project.

On arrival, enjoy a welcome drink and meet with one of the AWA’s marine biologist for a behind- the-scenes tour of the marine exhibit. During the visit, learn about the environmental threats faced by the Tonle Sap, including habitat destruction, illegal fishing and disrupted migration patterns.

This insightful visit includes a donation that supports vital conservation efforts for endangered species in Tonle Sap lake.

Let’s embark on a journey back in time! Set off from Siem Reap at 7:30 AM and head towards Sambor Prei Kuk, a UNESCO World Heritage Site and one of the most significant pre-Angkorian archaeological zones in Cambodia. Sambor Prei Kuk was built in the Chenla period between the 6th and 7th centuries and likely served as the religious centre of pre-Angkorian culture.

Visit the most well-preserved and impressive structures: Prasat Sambor, Prasat Tao "Temple of Lions", Prasat Yeay Poan. The three main sites of the ancient city are linked by small and shady tracks. Enjoy a beautiful walk through the jungle with breath-taking views of these beautiful structures that feature distinctive style. 

Following a visit to the temple, savour a simple yet flavorful lunch prepared by the local community. Your choice helps support their sustainable way of life. 

After lunch, continue to your hotel in Phnom Penh. The rest of the day at leisure.

This morning begins at 08:00. Get to know Phnom Penh, a vibrant city steeped in history. Visit Tuol Sleng Prison (S-21) and the Killing Fields at Choeung Ek, sites used by the Khmer Rouge regime when they ravaged the country in the 1970s and 80s. The lasting effects of this tragic period are still being felt. Although the visits are sombre, studying this era is important in helping to understand present-day Cambodia. 

Note: All visitors to Tuol Sleng and The Killing Fields are required to wear modest clothing: no short pants or short skirts (knees must be covered) and no sleeveless shirts (shoulders must be covered). See-through clothing will also not be allowed.

This morning the tour begins at 08:00, visit the Royal Palace. Explore the majestic compound and step back in time to when the Kingdom flourished. The elegant Silver Pagoda, with its solid-silver floor, is a reminder of the prosperity of the former royal families. 

Continue to the Russian Market. This bustling bazaar earned its name in the 1980s as the expat Russian population often shopped here. These days the market is filled with everything from souvenirs to local handicrafts, silver jewellery to electronic goods.

Then walk to the Pepper Mill Museum-La Plantation. The pepper mill plays a crucial role in the taste experience to reveal the aromas of peppers and, in particular, to discover the aromatic richness of Kampot pepper

You will meet your guide at the hotel lobby at 08:00 and you will be transferred to Kampot via Kep. 

Arrive in Kep, pay a visit to the popular crab market and see the crabs being stored in baskets in shallow water and then cooked in the market itself. The market is busiest at weekends and holidays but is fun at any time. The dozen-plus rickety old wooden shacks that hug the water’s edge next to the market serve fresh seafood at its best.

Then continue to your hotel in Kampot. A charming riverside town with magnificent natural surroundings is still dominated by French colonial architecture.

Depart at 8:30 am from your hotel for a drive through the countryside to La Plantation pepper farm. Upon arrival at La Plantation, enjoy an informative presentation to learn about different types of Kampot pepper, tasting the various forms grown on the farm. Next, learn to cook traditional Khmer dishes prepared exclusively with La Plantation spices and then lunch on the dishes that have been prepared along with a selection of seasonal fresh juices, home- made ice-teas, or other refreshments. (Note: cooking class is a joining class)

After dining, enjoy some leisure time at the open-air restaurant where you can enjoy the view or shop for various pepper products, including black, red, and salted pepper, as well as locally-produced Samai pepper-infused rum (provided they have some of the rum on hand, which uses pepper from the farm and is incredibly popular).
