Programme Details

At 8:30, start the day early and embark on a 1-hour drive south from Hoi An towards Ky Anh Tunnels, a notable historical site that offers a glimpse into the region's resilient past. This extensive 32-kilometer network of narrow underground tunnels, measuring approximately 0.5 to 0.8 meters wide and 0.8 to 1 meter high, was constructed between May 1965 and 1967 through the collective efforts of farmers, guerillas, and the locals. Upon arrival, meet with a local villager and hear them share about the importance of this war site during the Vietnam War.

After walking around and experiencing the tunnels, visit a local house for a hands-on mat weaving experience with locals, learn from the residents about this traditional craft, gaining insight into the process of transforming sedges into mats, a vital part of local culture.

Get back on the car for a short transfer to another local house in the village, here you will enjoy a home hosted lunch with local delicacies and share stories with the family about their daily life in the village. At 13:00, say good bye to the lovely host and get back in the car for an hour-long journey to your hotel or next destination. (L)
