This tour begins at either 8:30 or 14:00. The trip gives a glimpse into the French and American wars as well as a chance to talk with a friendly veteran whose role was inspecting sensitive war zones and delivering secret messages back to the troops.
Pay a visit to Hoa Lo museum, also known as “Hanoi Hilton” and “Maison Centrale”, once used for both Vietnamese political prisoners then Americans during the colonial occupation and the American war respectively.
Next, visit the ‘B-52 Victory Museum’ and a historic lake deep within Hanoi’s suburb’s, to explore the legacy of Hanoi’s historic triumph during the 1972 "Dien Bien Phu in the Air" campaign, where the fascinating wreckage of a downed B-52 bomber can be seen.
Then, visit the veteran’s home, chat with him for an in-depth account of his life experiences and his mission to train hundreds of signal troops to work as eyes and ears of the artillery arm to attract the most important bases of the US Military in the South of Vietnam. Return to the hotel or next destination at the end of the visit.
