Today’s tour begins at 08:30. Set off from Hanoi and travel west, passing through the scenic Red River Delta during the 1.5-hour drive. 

Visit Mia Pagoda, built in the 15th century and sheltering 287 figures of all sizes, among which are statues of Buddha and statues of the ‘Eight Vajra Deities’. Then, visit Mong Phu temple in Mong Phu commune – one of the few hamlets where the original village entrance remains. 

Continue walking through narrow lanes to admire the ancient laterite stone houses. A stone found in hot and wet tropical regions, laterite is a soft rock composed of iron and aluminum oxides. Take a break to visit a typical local house, have a cup of tea while chatting with the host about their lives in this historic area of Vietnam and enjoy lunch with local specialties. 

Then pay a visit to mystical Ngo Quyen and Phung Hung temples, places dedicated to two national heroes before returning to

Before returning to Hanoi, make a final stop at a local family to participate in the making of rice straw puppets and che lam (rice cake) – a specialty of this region.
