Be picked up at either 08:00 or 13:00 and venture away from the city center of Chiang Mai for an insightful look at Thailand’s rich culture. Start with a visit to Wat Phra That Doi Suthep. Situated on a mountain rising high above the city, this sacred pagoda offers fabulous views of Chiang Mai and its surroundings. Walk up the stairs to see the exquisite gilded stupa and learn about Thai Buddhist beliefs.

Next, continue higher into the hills, traveling by songtaew, a local truck. Drive along rough dirt roads to the Chang Khien Coffee Research Project. Enjoy a fresh cup of locally grown Arabica coffee and learn about the flourishing coffee industry in the North.

It’s a short drive onward to a village inhabited by the White Hmong hill tribe. Spend time exploring the village, and learn about the traditions and customs of this unique ethnic group.

Following this insightful village visit, return to the songtaew and drive back to Chiang Mai.

Note: The Chang Khien Coffee Research Project is not guaranteed to be open for a visit. If it is not the coffee-growing season, it is likely to be closed to the public. The alternative for coffee tasting will be at a local coffee shop at the hill tribe village.

Notes
- Upon entering any temple in Thailand, visitors must dress appropriately, with shoulders and knees covered.
- The White Hmong hill tribe village is located  on Doi Khun Chang Khien, which is part of Doi Suthep-Pui National Park. It is one of the authentic hilltribe villages where locals are living their normal daily lives,       leaving for work during the day and returning home in the evening. Thus, a visit during the day is likely to be quieter as locals are out at work. However, a sense of locality and lifestyle remains.
- Children between 2 and 11 years old at the time of travel will receive a 15% discount.
