You will be picked up at 08:00. Travel by skytrain, tuk tuk and boat to discover two neighborhoods of urban Bangkok where Thai and Chinese heritages meet. See how locals live in small alleys and how heritages have been well-preserved in the districts.

The fun day begins with a ride on the city’s skytrain, taking you to Bangkok’s central pier, a busy transit port for hotel shuttle boats and very crowded during rush hours with locals commuting to work by public boat. Disembark from the train and board a public boat for a short ride to the first stop at the Talad Noi district. Here, spend a few hours walking through the smaller lanes of the area, full of interesting sights, sounds, smells and history. Get a glimpse of Bangkok’s remarkable heritage buildings. See a well-preserved colonial-era bank building and numerous Chinese shrines and temples, rubbing shoulders with the Holy Rosary Church in the square. During the walk, admire some of the best street art and learn some of the stories behind the images.

As the morning hours pass by, you will soon realize this is just the beginning of your journey through Thai-Chinese heritage. Then, hop in an electric tuk tuk to the next scene, passing Chinatown and the Flower Market, and crossing the Memorial Bridge to the Khlong Sarn district, until reaching a cul-de-sac gem with a Chinese shrine and a hidden vintage-style riverside restaurant. Take a seat inside the restaurant and delight your taste buds with a delicious lunch set while enjoying the views of the river. After lunch, be guided to the old Chinese shrine of Kuan Ou and the over 200-year-old Chinese house. The house is open by appointment only, so you will get an exclusive visit. Learn more about Chinese history and culture here.

Following the insightful visits of Chinese heritage, walk to the nearby Princess Mother Memorial Park to explore some royal Thai heritage from times gone by. This park was established in remembrance of the mother of His Majesty King Rama 9, so the garden is a kind of reproduction of her childhood’s home. There is also a museum with exhibits  displaying her biography, her work and life, and her connection with the community in this district.

Then, return to the hotel by private transportation. (L)
