Pick up at 08:00. Travel by skytrain, tuk-tuk, and boat to discover two neighborhoods of urban Bangkok where Thai and Chinese heritages meet. See how locals live in small alleys and observe how these heritages have been well-preserved in the districts.

The fun day begins with a ride on the city’s skytrain, taking you to Bangkok’s central pier, a busy transit hub for hotel shuttle boats, which becomes very crowded during rush hours as locals commute to work by public boat. Disembark from the train and board a public boat for a short ride to the first stop at the Talad Noi district. Here, spend a few hours walking through the smaller lanes of the area, full of interesting sights, sounds, smells, and history. Get a glimpse of Bangkok’s remarkable heritage buildings, including a well-preserved colonial-era bank building and numerous Chinese shrines and temples, alongside the Holy Rosary Church in the square. During the walk, admire some of the best street art and learn the stories behind the images.

As the morning hours pass by, you will soon realize that this is just the beginning of your journey through Thai-Chinese heritage. Next, hop into an electric tuk-tuk to the next stop, passing through Chinatown and the Flower Market, and crossing the Memorial Bridge into the Khlong Sarn district. Continue until you reach a hidden cul-de-sac gem with a Chinese shrine and a vintage-style riverside restaurant. Take a seat inside the restaurant and delight your taste buds with a delicious lunch set while enjoying the views of the river. After lunch, you will be guided to the old Chinese shrine of Kuan Ou and a 200-year-old Chinese house. The house is open by appointment only, so you will get an exclusive visit. Learn more about Chinese history and culture here.

Following the insightful visits to Chinese heritage sites, walk to the nearby Princess Mother Memorial Park to explore some royal Thai heritage from times gone by. This park was established in remembrance of the mother of His Majesty King Rama IX, and the garden is a reproduction of her childhood home. There is also a museum with exhibits showcasing her biography, her work and life, and her connection with the community in this district. Afterward, return to the hotel by private transportation.
