Today, you will spend a day out of the city exploring an incredibly local area. You will spend the morning traveling out of the city and through the Thai countryside by train marveling at the sites along the way. You will shop like a local in the markets, worship like a local in a local temple with the tallest stupa in the world located at its heart and eat like a local in the cool art café and studio. Spend the rest of the day exploring a local orchard farm and return with a bucket load of amazing memories.
Pick up at 07:00. Escape the bustling crowds of the city and head to the western outskirts of Bangkok, exploring Nakhon Pathom Province. This province is famous for housing the tallest golden stupa, along with its stunning Thai countryside and some hidden landmarks and cafés that remain relatively secret.
Set off in the morning towards a local railway station and board a suburban ordinary train to the final terminal. As the train slowly pulls away, the scene shifts to a more rural landscape, with lush nature and rice paddy fields along the way. Sit back, relax, and enjoy the views for about an hour until the train finally comes to a halt.
Once you disembark and exit the station, you’ll see the towering stupa right in the middle of town. From here, walk through an old market selling various kinds of local produce, and continue until you get closer to the stupa. Then, visit the 'Phra Pathom Chedi,' the impressive tallest stupa in the world, soaring to a height of 127 meters (417 feet).
Next, you'll be picked up in private transportation and continue to 'Joon’s Studio and Café,' a small family-oriented art café. Once you enter the place, choose your preferred seat to enjoy your lunch—either in the indoor area, which is beautifully designed in a modern loft style, or outside under the shady trees. In addition to the café and restaurant, the house itself is a ceramic and art studio, offering various workshops such as painting, candle making, kite making, and more. If time allows, enjoy a workshop of your choice (at your own expense). (Note: Joon’s Studio and Café is closed on Tuesdays. If the visit falls on a Tuesday, the guide will bring you to an alternative family-oriented restaurant.)
After lunch, continue to a local orchard farm, which is less known to foreign tourists. Upon arrival, you’ll be guided through a shady garden farm where you can indulge in fruit tasting, with fruits picked straight from the trees. Depending on the season, you’ll have the chance to learn about, see, and taste various kinds of fruits. If you wish, you can also purchase seasonal fruits to take home (at your own expense). Finally, conclude your experience with a refreshing coconut before being transported back to Bangkok. (L)
