Then sit down with a Buddhist monk to talk about his life, gaining a deeper understanding of Thailand’s cultural beliefs.
Programme Details
You will be picked up at 13:00. Enjoy an afternoon of spiritual exploration. Set off from the hotel alongside the guide to practice meditation in Chiang Mai at Wat Suan Dok. Take a short tour of the temple, learning about its history and understanding why it is revered as one of the city’s most sacred sites.
Amid this sanctuary, find a quiet corner in which to meditate. Learn traditional techniques of meditation from a local expert, discovering how to control the breath and regulate the mind. Discover the importance of meditation in the lives of the Thai people, many of whom practice every day. Spend time practicing meditation, relaxing and purifying the mind and soul.
Feeling refreshed, meet with one of Wat Suan Dok’s monks for a chat. Enjoy this unique opportunity to talk with a Thai Buddhist monk and learn about his life, the country’s spiritual beliefs and anything else of interest. This exchange provides a remarkable forum for connecting with Thailand’s culture.
Following this immersive experience into Thailand’s spiritual side, return to the hotel.
Notes:
- Children between 2 and 11 years at the time of travel will receive a 15% discount.
- During the monk chat, some English will be spoken. Note that the guide will not be allowed to translate during the session so as not to disturb the concentration of the monk.
- Please note temples in Thailand are working temples. Monks live their daily lives in and around these temples in the way they have done for many years. Due to the nature of the life of a monk, their schedules can be unpredictable and things can change without prior warning. We will endeavour to do our best to produce the experience in the best possible format".
- Some sites and attractions, and the operating times of your itinerary, may be affected by Covid-19 measures and restrictions, our guide will adjust and amend the schedule of sightseeing visits locally where necessary.
