Discover the hidden art and culture along Klong Bang Mod, a local lesser-known canal in the outskirts of Bangkok. Travel by electric long-tail boat, exploring a local Chinese shrine and marveling at the neighbourhood’s stunning art graffiti. Conclude the experience at a charming waterside house for a refreshing drink, peaceful kayaking and a fun art workshop.
In the early afternoon, transfer from the hotel at 13:00 to the lesser-known Klong Bang Mod, a local canal rich in culture that reflects a blend of Buddhist, Chinese and Muslim influences.
Upon arrival at Wat Phutthabucha, meet the local host before boarding an electric long-tail boat for a short, scenic ride through the canal. Glide past traditional homes and colourful street art, including a ceramic mural dedicated to His Majesty King Rama IX, who was widely beloved by Thai people during his recent reign.
The route stops at a local Chinese shrine, offering a glimpse into the community’s heritage. After approximately 15 minutes on the water, arrive at Baan Kienwad and Pappim House, a standalone house nestled by the klong with a relaxing garden.
Enjoy a refreshing welcome drink before taking part in a relaxed kayaking activity through a small klong, exploring nearby local surroundings, and also have an opportunity to visit the coconut plantation (if time and routing allow). Returning to the house, light afternoon snacks and a fresh coconut drink are served.
The experience concludes with a creative art workshop, offering a choice of stone painting, fan decoupage or stone bracelet making. The selected activity is shared by all participants, with each guest taking home their handmade keepsake as well as an art postcard. A private van transfers guests to the hotel at the end of the afternoon.
