Bond with and care for Asian elephants in a perfect pocket of pachyderm paradise located on a secluded hill in the jungles of Chiang Mai. Learn from mahouts how to communicate, bathe and feed them. Then, spend some quality time interacting with these lumbering gentle giants.
Programme Details
Be picked up from the hotel at 08:30 and transfer to the meeting point near Mae Wang River, where to embark on a bamboo raft.Have a great fun experience on a short bamboo raft cruising to the Elephant Discovery Camp, located in a natural area up on a hill of Mae Wang district.
Upon arrival at the camp, meet an elephant mahout, be introduced to the elephants, and learn about their story and daily lifestyle. Interact and play with the elephants under mahouts’ supervision and form a bond with them. Enjoy a walk alongside them and enjoy watching them play in the mud pond. Learn to communicate with them and how to prepare nutritional food and desserts for them using various natural ingredients. Also, have fun bathing and soaking the elephants in a big pond. Lunch is served at the camp. (L)
Notes:
- Max. 9 persons sharing elephant.
- Private roundtrip hotel transfers but join-in elephant activity
- Children are charged as adults. Min. child age is 3 years old.
- Supplement charge 1 elephant per 1 pax = THB 2,400.- per pax with max. 3 pax per day
- Bamboo rafting may not be possible during the rainy season; it depends on the water level on the day of the tour. If it occurs, you will be offered a coffee / tea drink at the meeting point before being transferred to the camp.
- Bamboo rafting takes up to 20-25 minutes.
