Take a memorable bike ride through Chiang Mai’s outskirts. Pedal around the ancient ruins of Wiang Khum Kham and explore traditional handicraft workshops in Ban Tawai. Enjoy the tranquil rhythms of the countryside while cycling along quiet laneways and through charming neighbourhoods.
Programme Details
You will be picked up at either 08:00 or 13:00. Then ride along the banks of the Ping River. See fishermen at work on the river and enjoy the lush green surroundings.
Escape from the busy streets of downtown and drive out to the countryside on this Chiang Mai cycling tour. First explore the ancient city of Wiang Khum Kham, a 13th-century town that was buried under mud until being excavated in the 1980s. Pedal around the atmospheric ruins learning about their origins and the local legends that surround the site.
Continue along quiet roads, passing traditional teak houses and meeting friendly locals on the way. Stop in a grassy parkland to refresh with a snack of fresh tropical fruits and a cool drink. Then continue pedalling to Ban Tawai. Commonly referred to as ‘The Village of Handicrafts’, this small community is filled with workshops making traditional Thai crafts. Witness the production of items such as silverware, wood carvings, and more.
After approximately 25 kilometres of riding, the adventure comes to an end with a transfer into town.
Notes:
- Cycling distance is approximately 25 km on good quality flat tarmac roads.
- The tour is not suitable for children under 6 years old.
- Child is charged as an adult.
- When booked please provide height of each client as this information is essential to secure the right bike size for the trip.
- Failure to inform EXO of the guest's height at least 14 days prior to the booking date will result in EXO having to bring multiple bikes of multiple sizes to the tour pick-up point for which there will be local charges.
