Meet the guide at the hotel in downtown Chiang Mai and depart for Wat Ku Tao, also known as the Temple of the Gourd Pagoda. On the way, learn more about ZinMai Experiences and its work connecting Chiang Mai’s Thai and Myanmar communities through inclusive, community-based tourism.

At Wat Ku Tao, discover the temple’s significance to Chiang Mai’s Shan community and the wider cultural connections between northern Thailand and Myanmar. Admire its distinctive chedi, built in the Yunnanese style with five diminishing spheres representing the five Buddhas, alongside Shan and Burmese architectural influences found throughout the temple complex.

Continue by Songthaew, Chiang Mai’s iconic red local transport, to the Three Kings Monument, dedicated to Kings Mangrai, Ramkhamhaeng and Ngam Mueang, who are considered the founding fathers of the Lanna Kingdom.

Stop by a Chinese shrine dedicated to Guan Yu to observe a traditional worship area for local merchants before entering Warorot Market (Kad Luang). Located near the Ping River, this 200-year-old market remains one of the city's main trading hubs, reflecting Chiang Mai's multicultural heritage with Thai, Chinese and Burmese influences.
