At Rai Kong Khing, the people in this small community live together happily. They define "happiness" as "inner contentment," which is discovered by living in harmony with nature. The people here grow organic vegetables and herbs at home for cooking, and they also make them into usable products.

We will take you to experience their happiness and contentment as you learn about physical health and mental well-being from the northern Thai Lanna culture’s perspective. Most of all, you will learn about happiness through experiencing the way of life of these people.

Upon arriving at the Ban Rai Kong Khing Community, you will be welcomed with a traditional reception. Everyone is given a pandan leaf flower before enjoying a range of food and drinks made by locals using home-grown ingredients that reflect the regional culture and tastes.

The most famous activity at Ban Rai Kong Khing Community is a unique form of massage known as Yam Khang, which has been passed down through generations. This involves flaming hot coals and masseurs walking on your limbs with their heated feet to soothe away muscle tension.

Take part in several workshop activities to learn about the locals’ wisdom, such as how to make a herbal compress. You will also join a workshop to make a Tung. In the Lanna language, "Tung" means flag.

Enjoy lunch served by the locals with their signature dish, the famous Khao Soi — a spicy, herby curry that will set your taste buds dancing.

In the afternoon, visit the unique organic farm of Ban Rai Kong Khing. You will help the locals shovel the soil in plots that the elder farmers in the community prepare for watering and sowing seeds. The village locals will take good care of this special vegetable plot until the seeds are fully grown. (During the off-season, you will be taken to see the 3D Street Art of Lanna Folklore instead.)

Afterwards, you can cycle and explore the village by biking through beautiful paths along the lush, green nature trail to the Royal Park Ratchaphruk.

Return to your hotel in Chiang Mai by approximately 17:00.
