Singaporean hawker cuisine is a vibrant tapestry of culture and history. This engaging, hands-on workshop dives straight into the culinary heart of the city, focusing on mastering authentic local recipes. Under the guidance of a professional chef, you will learn the secrets to recreating these iconic, flavourful dishes.
Guests are picked up from their hotel between 09:30 and 10:00 and transferred directly to the cooking studio at Chromos on Biopolis Road by private, air-conditioned vehicle.
The hands-on cooking class (approx. 2.5 hours) begins promptly at 10:30, led by a professional chef. You will learn to prepare three classic Singaporean dishes, choosing one main dish and two complementary sides from a fixed weekly menu that may include:
Main Dish (choose one): Char Kway Teow, Singapore Laksa, Singapore Fried Hokkien Mee, Chicken Rice, or Singaporean Fried Rice.
Side Dishes (choose two):Sambal Sotong (squid stir-fried with dried shrimp and chili paste) or Sambal Kangkong / Stir-fried Kangkong (stir-fried morning glory).
The class concludes around 13:00, allowing you to sit down and enjoy the delicious meal you have prepared for lunch. Following the meal, guests are transferred back to their hotel by private vehicle. (L)
