Explore the old and new side of Singapore on this half day city tour and learn about its history contrasted against the modern cityscape. Tour the old and culturally rich Kampong Glam and Little India before hopping back on board a bus to trendy Marina Bay Sands.

At 10:00 or 15:00 this morning be met by the guide at the hotel for a city tour of Singapore via its seamless public transport network.

After a short briefing of today's tour, walk to Bugis Street and discover some of the local markets, iconic dry goods warehouse and the popular Chinese Kwan Im Thong Temple. Then take the MRT train to Little India Station. Take in the many colours and exotic scents of spices while riding pass the streets. Walk along the streets and stop by any shop of interest while learning about the history of the India community in Singapore. Stop for a light snack or drink and savour the local favourite roti prata, a south Indian flat bread made by frying stretched dough flavoured with ghee (clarified butter). Crispy on the outside, soft on the inside,roti prata is usually served with fish or mutton curry and hits all the spot every time.

Then walk to the nearest bus stop and hop on the bus to Kampong Glam. The traditional Malay enclave of Singapore, Kampong Glam is home to the iconic Sultan Mosque, famed Arab Street and traditional eateries. In recent years, cafes, homegrown retail shops and speakeasy cocktail bars have popped up in the area making it a trendy hang out for young Singaporeans. Stroll along the area and visit the different shops while learning about the Malay culture in Singapore. Stop for a taste of the local teh tarik   - a sweetened tea drink made with condensed or evaporated milk. milk. Traditionally the tea is tarik'ed (pulled) by successive pouring from one container/cup to another. With some luck, get to watch a teh tarik demonstration.

Then, hop back on a bus for a scenic ride  to the iconic Marina Bay Sands. Observe the super modern architecture and buildings of Singapore and learn about some of the stories behind the design and meaning. Arrive at the trendy Marina Bay Sands and explore the area independently. Choose to visit Sands Sky Park, go shopping or simply take photos of the scenic bay view.
