Meet the guide at the hotel at 18:30 to begin a sensory journey through the heart of Malacca. This evening experience offers a deep dive into the local culinary culture that has made the city an international food hub for centuries.

Traverse the narrow, history-soaked streets of this UNESCO World Heritage town on foot and by traditional colorful trishaws. Along the way, stop at a variety of local establishments, many of which have been operated by the same families for generations. These experts specialize in traditional recipes influenced by Malay, Chinese, Indian, and Arab traders who have arrived on these shores over the last 2,000 years.

The journey continues into the Old Town, where you will stroll past the beautifully preserved heritage houses of Jonker Street. Here, the guide will introduce a selection of traditional local delicacies and street food favorites based on the best seasonal and daily offerings available. Conclude the evening at a picturesque riverside cafe along the canal. Surrounded by vibrant street art and the gentle glow of colorful lights, it is the perfect spot to relax with a drink and reflect on the multicultural heritage of this quaint town. (D)

- Participants should be aware that street food tours and tours including some local food sampling can carry some risks regarding stomach problems for travelers. While vetted because they are popular and well-frequented local establishments, the places chosen are on or near street level and their setup and food safety standards are not comparable with what is the custom in the developed world.
