Programme Details
At 09:00, meet the English-Speaking Driver at the hotel lobby for a half day discovery of Langkawi’s Highlights. Begin at a beautiful black sand beach and take photos at the ancient fishing jetty. In spite of its name, the beach is essentially a combination of black and white sand. A belief of some locals that it was a result of a centuries-old curse placed by a mermaid after a fisherman had stolen her ring.
Continue to Mahsuri’s tomb, the legendary icon of Langkawi. Learn the story of the beautiful maiden (or princess by some locals) and how she died and cursed the island with bad luck for 7 generations.
Next, visit a Batik Art Village to witness the Batik making, a cloth that is beautifully designed using a traditional method of wax-resist dyeing. Recognized by the Malaysian Ministry of Culture, Arts & Heritage, Atma Alam Batik Art Village is the birthplace of Langkawi’s art of hand made Batik. Shop the high quality and affordable local products.
Continue to a must visit in Langkawi, a 12-meters high brown eagle at the Eagle Square. Aside from the stunning view of Kuah Bay, Eagle Square, also known as Dataran Lang has attractive miniature fountains, terraces and bridges, making the square the perfect spot to have a “postcard” holiday photo.
Before heading back to the hotel, enjoy Langkawi’s famous duty-free shopping in Kuah Town. Return to the hotel for 13:00.
