Spend a full day exploring the city on this Kuala Lumpur guided tour, getting a taste of the city’s mélange of historical and cultural highlights.

The first visit is to the Federal Territory Mosque, an important building that serves as a place of worship as well as a community hall and school. Admire the incredible architecture, reflecting the design style of the Ottoman period, and gain insight into Malaysia’s Muslim population. (closed for non-Muslim during the praying time)

Continue to the National Monument and cenotaph, tributes to the country’s fallen soldiers. Learn about Malaysia’s path to independence and military past while admiring these impressive monuments. Then make a short stop outside of the opulent former palace of the King for photos of the impressive gates.

Back into the buzz of the city, pass by the neo-Moorish Railway Station on the way to Kuala Lumpur’s oldest Hindu Temple. Learn about its origins and the country’s Hindu population while gazing upon the colourful decorations that cover the Sri Mahamariamman temple.

Next up is a visit to vibrant Chinatown for a glimpse into the lives of Kuala Lumpur’s Chinese-Malay population. Walk past traditional shop houses and witness locals lighting incense at sacred shrine before heading to Petaling Street Market to browse the eclectic stalls.

From here, travel by monorail across town to the Bukit Bintang area, Kuala Lumpur’s shopping and entertainment district. Take a walk through the street stalls, browsing the mix of Chinese, Indian and Malay dishes on offer. The guide will introduce Malaysia’s culinary culture and explain some of the items on sale.
