Spot Irrawaddy Dolphins at the mouth of the Santubong River before proceeding to Kuching Wetland National Park for sightings of proboscis monkeys, found only on the island of Borneo. Continue your boat cruise to Satang Island for visiting the turtle hatchery and learn about the conservation work to help these endangered sea creatures.
At 08:00hrs, depart for about 45 minutes to Santubong Village to board a motorized boat. The cruise will pass along the Mangrove Forest with its rich flora & fauna and depending on the timing & tide, normally mudskippers, crabs, reptiles, monkeys and other wildlifes can be seen quite easily.
Somewhere near the mouth of Santubong / Salak River, the Irrawaddy Dolphin are quite easily spotted during the dry season from April to November but less sightings during the wet season from December to March.
Proceed along the Kuching Wetland National Park to look for the Proboscis Monkeys, then proceed to Satang Island where you can have a look at the Nursery (hatchery) where turtle eggs are kept. After hatchery, the baby turtles are released into the sea.
Depending on the tide, guests can proceed to look for the Proboscis Monkeys, then proceed to Satang Island where you can do snorkeling before returning by boat to the Jetty then by van to Kuching and drop-off at the hotel. (Packed Lunch).
