Nothing encapsulates the magic of Laos better than a sunset cruise on the mighty Mekong River. The fabled waterway runs all the way through the country from north to south, but it hits a scenic peak around the city of Luang Prabang. There is no better jumping off point for a river journey than the former royal capital.
Programme Details
This afternoon, guests will be picked up at their hotel and transferred to the pier to board the private boat.
The boat will leave at 5:30pm, cruising gently down the mighty Mekong River. Traveling at a leisurely pace, guests will have plenty of time to appreciate the dramatic scenery, peaceful ambience and simple rural lives of villages along the river.
The cruise will slide back a section of its roof so guests can have panoramic views of the oranges, reds, pinks, and purples of the changing sky as the sun sinks behind the mountains.
While cruising, guests will be served traditional Lao snacks, water, Beer Lao and house wine. Onboard music is available or you are free to play your own tunes, or just contemplate the peace and calm.
Guests will arrive back in Luang Prabang around 7:00 – 7:30PM. They will be met at the jetty for a private transfer to their hotel, or to a restaurant of their choice.
