Travel to Vat That Luang, A much lesser visited temple, yet being an invaluable place of royal Lao history. Built on a knoll in 1818,Wat That Luang was used to hold funeral rites and cremate the country‘s highest dignitaries. The sim is bracketed by two stupas, the larger of which is plated with an armour of corroded old brass plates. Illuminated by candles and surrounded by fabulous views, this is a magical spot for a blessing ceremony.

As the sun sets, special trays of flowers and other offerings will be laid out. Join the locals to touch the tray while chanting Buddhist mantras. The rhythmic chants are calling for good luck and good health to be brought upon the baci participants.

After the chanting, cotton bracelets will be tied around everyone’s wrists with special, individual blessings being offered. Feel the deep spirituality and genuine nature of the Lao people as they solemnly knot the bracelets.

Having been blessed with good karma, relax in the tranquil temple and reflect on the rich culture of Laos. Then return to the hotel for a restful evening.
