Francis will greet you at Heuan Chan, one of the oldest houses of Luang Prabang, built hundreds of years ago in the village of Xieng Mouane. Settled in the cafe, Francis will share with you the evolution of the Luang Prabang Architecture. He will tell you the story of this respectable wooden house built formerly by Phanya Muang Sène, leader of the Privy Council of the King. You will understand then the various influences which transformed the architecture in the colonial time until today. In the big garden which surrounds the house, you will discover some of the useful plants and the trees which locals still use today as natural remedies.

Then you will change sites to the center of Preservation of Buddhist archives at Vat Khili. Francis will explain to you the origin of this impressive collection of more than 35,000 historic photos and the building which shelters them. You will understand the importance of the Buddhism Theravada in the life of Luang Prabang yesterday and today as well as the role of the meditation in the training of the monks and the novices.
