Start your day with panoramic views from Ingwangsan, then dive into royal heritage at Gyeongbokgung and spiritual calm at Jogyesa. Wander historic Insadong, unwind at a hanok tea house, and craft your own Korean seal, a perfect blend of nature, history, and creativity in one immersive day.
Meet the guide at 08:30 in the hotel lobby. Today’s tour will be conducted in a private, air-conditioned vehicle with a dedicated driver.
Begin with an early morning hike to Inwangsan, one of Seoul’s most scenic urban peaks. As the city slowly stirs to life below, walk along fortress walls and forested paths while enjoying panoramic views over Gyeongbokgung Palace, the Han River, and distant mountain ridges.
The trail begins at Changuimun Gate, one of the ancient gates of Seoul’s fortress wall, and takes approximately two hours, including time to pause at the 338-metre summit for sweeping views and photo opportunities.
Then, move into the charming streets of Seochon Village, one of the city’s oldest neighbourhoods. With its quaint alleys, hanok homes, and creative cafés, the area offers a relaxed yet culturally rich ambiance.
Have lunch at one of the many local restaurants, then head to the majestic Gyeongbokgung Palace, the main royal residence of the Joseon Dynasty.
Visitors can witness the Royal Guard Changing Ceremony at 14:00 at Gwanghwamun Gate, a traditional performance that brings the Joseon Dynasty to life.
Wander through the Palace’s spacious courtyards and elegant pavilions, taking in the harmonious design and historical significance of this cultural landmark.
A short walk then brings you to Jogyesa Temple, the spiritual heart of Korean Buddhism. Known for its vibrant lanterns and century-old trees, this city-centre temple offers a moment of calm and reflection amidst the urban rhythm.
The afternoon continues in Insadong, a district known for its rich artistic and cultural heritage. Explore its narrow alleyways lined with antique shops, galleries, craft boutiques, and calligraphy studios, an ideal place to pick up meaningful souvenirs.
Make a relaxing stop at a traditional tea house nestled in one of Insadong’s hidden corners. Take a break from the bustling streets and enjoy a moment of calm in the Hanok Tea House’s charming courtyard. Savour a cup of locally brewed Korean tea, such as jujube, omija, or green tea, served in elegant ware, surrounded by tranquil gardens and traditional hanok architecture.
Before returning to the hotel, take part in a join-in seal engraving class, where you’ll design and carve your very own dojang, a personalised Korean stamp traditionally used as a signature. Crafted from stone and engraved by hand, it makes for a meaningful and lasting keepsake from your time in Korea.(L)
