After breakfast at the hotel, meet with a guide to set off for a full day exploring Seoul by public transport.

Kick off your morning tour with a walk to Gwanghwamun Square, a popular public space often hosting outdoor performances and art exhibitions.

Then, visit Gyeongbokgung Palace, the main royal palace of the Joseon Dynasty. Originally built in 1395, it was expanded in 1867 to become the largest, and arguably most beautiful of Seoul’s five palaces, with 330 buildings in total.

If time allows, witness the ceremonial changing of the guard, which takes place at 10:00 and 14:00 at Gwanghwamun Gate.

Following the palace visit, there is an option to explore The National Folk Museum. The museum contains interesting exhibits about the history of Korean people and their culture.

Lunch at a local restaurant in Insadong.

This afternoon, continue your Seoul exploration with a visit to Jogyesa Temple, the heart of Korean Buddhism. Founded in the late 14th century, it has been a central figure in the religion's history, particularly during the Japanese occupation. This temple is more than just a religious site: it's a symbol of resilience and cultural heritage.

Next, stop by Changdeokgung Palace, another palace from the Joseon dynasty. In addition to being one of the best-preserved palaces, this UNESCO site is known for its Secret Garden, where man-made structures were built in harmony with the natural surroundings.

Then, take a stroll through Ikseondong Coffee Street, a trendy neighbourhood in Seoul known for its charming hanok (traditional Korean houses) transformed into stylish cafes, restaurants, and boutiques. It's a popular spot for experiencing a mix of old and new Seoul.

Transfer back to the hotel for some well-deserved rest. (L)
