Transfer to Mudeungsan National Park and take a light 40-minute nature hike to Jeungsimsa Temple. Take a moment to relax and enjoy the serene, spiritual ambiance of this historic Buddhist temple.
On the return walk, stop at Uijae Museum of Korean Art, an impressive art gallery located on the mountain side. Spend time browsing the exhibits before continuing the journey down the mountain.
Continue to the centre of Gwangju for lunch. Enjoy a selection of dishes that reflect the authentic flavours of Korean cuisine and stand testament to the city's rich culinary heritage.
After lunch, visit the iconic Sajik Park Tower. Take the elevator to the observatory platform and enjoy panoramic views of Gwangju's sprawling urban landscape and beyond.
Next, dive into Gwangju's storied past with a walk through the historical site and missionary houses of Yangnim-dong village. While in Yangnim-dong, take a break at Lee Lee Nam Studio, a multi-functional space that contains a writer’s studio, the Media Art Museum and a coffee shop.
Concluding the Gwangju exploration on a cultural high note, visit the renowned Asia Culture Center. A vibrant hub of artistic expression and cultural exchange, learn about Asia's diverse and dynamic culture through captivating exhibitions, performances and interactive displays.
