Programme Details
After breakfast, meet the private guide and vehicle around 09:00 to set off towards the Aegibong Korean Demilitarised Zone (DMZ), a journey of approximately 1.5 hours.
Upon arrival at the entrance, transfer to the DMZ’s inner shuttle to reach the Eco Exhibition Hall.
From here, a short 10-minute walk leads to the Jogang Observatory at Aegibong Peace Ecopark, offering clear views of North Korea across the Jogang River. There is also time for a relaxing café break, with refreshments at guests’ own expense.
The journey continues to Gyodong Island, located immediately adjacent to North Korea, which requires passage through the heavily guarded Civilian Control Line.
Explore Daeryong Market, a nostalgic alleyway established by North Korean refugees. Due to its remote border location far from Seoul, the market has preserved a pastoral atmosphere reminiscent of the 1970s and 1980s. Take time to wander the lanes and look out for the popular local Koreanised-Chinese snacks.
Lunch at the market, Hwanghae-do gukbap (pork and broth soup), presents an opportunity to taste distinctive heritage cuisine originating from North Korea.
Snacks such as Gangajji-tteok, born from a clever ruse during the Japanese colonial era when locals claimed the rice cakes were for their dogs to avoid food confiscation, reflect the poignant history and unique heritage of the northern refugees who founded the village.
Depart for the return journey to Seoul.

- In certain areas of the DMZ, photography is strictly prohibited. Adherence to guide instructions regarding photography and video capture in restricted zones is essential.
- Itinerary order may be modified by the guide based on seasonal conditions and DMZ access schedules.
- The minimum age for participation is 7, and the maximum age is 75. These guidelines are in place for guest wellbeing, as there is limited medical access within the controlled military zone.
- A valid passport is required for the visit.
- The area can be very windy, so guests are advised to dress accordingly.
- Depending on the guard's daily protocol, private vehicles may occasionally be allowed to enter the observatory directly. This is not guaranteed, but is almost always permitted for tours involving passengers with disabilities.
- Military checkpoint procedures may cause delays from Aegibong to Kyodongdo Island.
