Discover Seongsu, one of Seoul's most fashionable neighbourhoods, where former industrial buildings have been transformed into creative cafés, designer boutiques and ever-changing pop-up stores. Explore the neighbourhood by bicycle before continuing through the peaceful surroundings of Seoul Forest, discovering an engaging contrast between industrial heritage, contemporary culture and green open spaces.
Meet the guide at Jayang Station (Line 7), beside Ttukseom Hangang Park, where the bicycles will be ready for departure. Following a short safety briefing, set off along the Han River, enjoying wide views across the water before continuing into the city's quieter neighbourhoods.
The ride effortlessly transitions from the riverside into the lush oasis of the Seoul Forest. Once home to a water treatment plant and race course, Seoul Forest has been transformed into one of the city's most popular green spaces. The journey continues through landscaped gardens, vibrant greenery and relaxed picnic grounds.
Leaving the forest behind, the path winds through charming residential alleys lined with classic red-brick villas and small local grocery shops. Soon, the group enters Seongsu-dong Cafe Street, one of Seoul's most creative neighbourhoods. From the saddle, discover how a former handmade shoe manufacturing district has evolved into one of Seoul's leading creative quarters, filled with independent cafés, design studios and stylish pop-up stores.
The tour continues to Norunsan Market, where traditional food stalls offer a glimpse into everyday local life. Long before Seongsu became a hotspot, this traditional market was the heart of the community. There is an opportunity to sample freshly fried Kkwabaegi (twisted donuts) and Dakgangjeong (sweet fried chicken), experiencing the raw, authentic neighbourhood atmosphere at local prices.
The route returns to the Han River, where the guided tour comes to an end. Those wishing to extend the experience may purchase snacks from the market and enjoy a relaxing picnic by the riverside (at one’s own personal expense).
