Tokyo Underpass Food Tour (Shared)

Tonight’s tour begins at 17:00. Meet the guide and set out into the bustling Yurakucho District.

Stop for meals at two izakayas – Japanese gastropubs that serve a variety of tapas-like food and drink. The first venue focuses on yakitori grilled chicken skewers, and the second serves up yakiniku meat dishes. Other options like karage fried chicken, salad, sashimi, and sushi rolls are often available seasonally as well. This is comfort food for the salarymen office workers, a way for them to unwind with small plates between a mug of beer or a highball. Drinks are included as well (non-alcoholic options available).

During the meals, enjoy conversation with the guide about Japanese cuisine, izakaya culture, or other fascinating topics.

Still hungry? The guide will include a final stop for a bowl of noodles as a finisher, or a light dessert option can be enjoyed instead. 

After this insightful and delicious walking tour of Yurakucho, part ways with the guide and return to the hotel or continue exploring Tokyo’s nightlife independently.

- Although some local restaurants and izakaya in Japan still allow smoking, this tour only includes non-smoking venues. The choice of location makes it an ideal tour for families and kids, allowing them to enjoy a very family friendly approach to Tokyo’s nightlife.
- Please understand that the menu of the tour is fixed and that traditional izakayas do not cater for food allergies or special dietary requirements. Our guide will try to adapt the menu as much as possible and find substitutions in the event of food allergies, but in some cases no alternative can be guaranteed. Should you have any specific dietary requirements (vegetarian, vegan, or gluten-free) please book a private tour.
- In the case of a serious or severe allergy, participants will not be able to take this tour. For moderate or mild allergies, the restaurants will be informed in advance but there could still be a potential risk of cross contamination, and participants will need to sign a waiver form before the day of the tour.
- Tour may be cancelled in case of extreme weather.
