Begin your journey at the Ogawa Kite Shop, a living testament to Nagasaki's kite-making heritage. Delve into the intricate process of crafting 'hata'—traditional kites that have graced the skies of Nagasaki for centuries. These kites, characterized by their distinctive red, white, and blue colors, are believed to have originated from Indonesian kites introduced by Dutch traders in the 17th century. At the shop, you'll not only observe the meticulous crafting process but also have the opportunity to create your own kite, a perfect souvenir imbued with personal effort and cultural significance.

Next, immerse yourself in the tranquil surroundings of Kofukuji Temple, the oldest Chinese-founded temple in Nagasaki. Established in 1624, Kofukuji stands as a beacon of the Obaku Zen school, a unique blend of Chinese and Japanese Zen practices.

Conclude the tour with a leisurely stroll through Teramachi Street, a historic district renowned for its concentration of temples. This area, often referred to as 'Temple Town,' offers a peaceful retreat from the city's hustle and bustle.

This half-day tour is a perfect blend of hands-on experiences and serene exploration, offering a comprehensive introduction to Nagasaki's rich heritage.
