With a knowledgeable local guide along the journey, unravel the history of the Japanese winemaking industry and take in beautiful countryside vineyard views paired with Japan’s national treasure Mt Fuji.

When thinking of Japanese beverages, undoubtedly sake and whisky come to mind first. Explore deeper into the liquid landscape of Japan on this tour, focusing on the leading winemakers in the Koshu valley. 

Meet the guide at Kawaguchiko station and travel by private vehicle to the heart of Japanese winemaking. On the way to Katsunuma town, stop and take in the picturesque countryside settings framed by Mt. Fuji.

Visit two award-winning wineries, with a tasting flight of three or four wines at each location. Sample delicious wines made from not only Western grapes but also the indigenous Koshu variety for which Japanese winemaking is best known. Following the winery visits, stop by at a large cellar that boasts a selection of 180 wines available for tasting.

Before returning to Kawaguchiko, the final stop of the tour will be another spectacular view point to see the vineyards of raised grape canopies.
