Meet the guide in the hotel lobby and head out on today’s private tour. The starting time can be adjusted based on the guests’ arrival time, but it suggested to begin no later than 15:30.

Stroll along the famous canal that runs through the lower portion of the town. Along the way, the guide provides interesting history and anecdotes about both historic and modern life in Kinosaki Onsen.

Make a stop outside a public bath to learn how locals partake in the daily ritual of a steaming soak in the mineral waters. Today’s walking route will pass by all seven of the famous hot springs in town, explaining their history and special points. Most visitors to Kinosaki won’t have quite enough time to try all seven, so this is a great chance to decide which ones are a personal must-visit.

Pass by ateliers selling regional crafts, retro storefronts of game parlors and souvenir shops, and traditional shops filled with local snacks. Guests in Kinosaki usually go out for a stroll and a bath after dinner, so this tour gives plenty of ideas for shops to come back to later.

Try a bite of something sweet along the way before reaching the most important site in town: the spot where pure spring water was first found flowing up from the earth more than a millennium ago.

Filled with local knowledge and a better sense of the town’s layout, part ways with the guide and return back to the hotel in time for dinner.
