Be transferred to Kotabaru region, which was previously used as a housing complex for Dutch people who lived in Yogyakarta in 1920. First, visit the code museum, which used to be the building for the Ministry of Domestic Affairs. Learn about cryptology from a local guide and try a hand at a tricky code-game!

Walking from the museum, explore Nieuwe Wijk with typical colonial houses and an old school building. Also, there is a mosque and church worth visiting and not to forget – a visit to a legendary food stall for delicious classic sweet snacks!
After a short car ride, enjoy exploring more colonial buildings on the other side of Yogyakarta. Get off at Taman Budaya formerly Societet Militair which was built before 1717. The building was a recreational facility for Dutch military members and family in the past and today it is used as the cultural centre.
Continue walking on to Vredeburg Fort passing through the old street of Paberingan. It was a former colonial fortress in Yogyakarta which was converted into the Independence Struggle Museum. Enjoy diorama portraying Indonesia’s journey for independence.
After learning about the story of the fortress, cross Malioboro Street to Gedung Agung the Presidential Palace which was built in 1824. Discover how the protocol arranges the state event and the guest, and visit the palace museum inside the complex.
Note: The Presidential Palace is open daily, but if there is any event internally, it is closed without notification.
Come out from the palace, and then walk to the corner of the square to the old post office. While listening to the story of the post office, create a personal stamp to send a postcard to a loved one back home!
Enjoy refreshments at the post office's café, which is furnished with vintage post office equipment, to cap off the tour.

- During the important religious festival of Idul Fitri, which falls on 9th-10th March 2027 significant travel activity is expected across the country, especially within Java. Travelling will be extremely challenging due to heavy traffic, expect significant delays and congestion on roads, trains, and flights. You might find limited-service availability, as some tour guides could be returning home and certain restaurants may be closed. The busiest travel periods will be just before and immediately after the holiday. Given the anticipated severe disruptions, we strongly advise against overland travel from 2nd - 17th March 2027.
