The Muntigunung Charity Trek

Prepare for an exhilarating Bali hike! Gear up with sturdy boots, sunscreen, and your camera, and join Pica and local guides on a climb up the rugged mountainside. The reward is breathtaking: panoramic views where the ocean shimmers to the horizon and Lake Batur sparkles far below, nestled within the caldera's rim. This trail, now a scenic hike, once represented a grueling daily water trek for Munti village women and children.

A picturesque rest stop at the peak provides stunning photo opportunities, refreshing Bali coffee, and a vibrant tropical fruit feast. The journey continues with a challenging two-hour descent through a dry, unforgiving landscape. Despite the harsh conditions, the views remain breathtaking, with the trail following the island's deepest gorge and Gunung Agung in the background.

This 12km Bali hike offers more than just stunning views; it was a cultural immersion. Our guide will share  insights into the area's history, culture, and challenges. We will engage with villagers in Munti hamlets, witnessing their craftsmanship in basket weaving and food production, and savouring their homemade delicacies. The last stop on this inspiring trek, a well-deserved lunch at the breezy beachfront bale. (L)

- Our rates are nets and quoted in American dollars (USD), however some services (like transportation, guide fees, entrance fees, some activities,  meals, air tickets and train tickets and sometimes accommodations) are based on local prices in Indonesian Rupiah in (IDR). - All rates are based on the current gasoline price. Should the gasoline price increase by more than 10% we would readjust transfer rates with a 30 days prior notice.
- During Nyepi Day, a significant religious observance in Bali observed on 19th March 2026, visitors must remain within hotel premises from 6:00 AM until 6:00 AM the following day (a 24-hour period). Both Bali Airport and the harbor will not operate any flights or activities during this time. Hotels will continue to operate with limited staff.
