Explore the hidden gems of the Village of Panempahan, nestled in the outskirts of Ubud, and immerse yourself in the rich historical, cultural, artistic, and natural wonders it offers. Embark on a fun trekking adventure through this ancient village, gaining invaluable insights into the daily lives of the Balinese people.
The journey commences at the compound of the village leader (Bendesa), where a warm welcome drink awaits you. Engage in a delightful session, where the history of Bali, village traditions, and Balinese compound culture come alive through stories shared by the old village leader.
Accompanied by experienced guides, we'll embark on a roughly 1.35-hour walk, exploring the captivating village and its surroundings. Along the way, be privileged to witness and participate in traditional activities such as secret mask-making, crafting Balinese offerings, and wood and bone carving. If we're fortunate, we might even get a glimpse of the process of making Wild Bali Coffee and Virgin Coconut oil - rare experiences seldom encountered by tourists.
As we stroll through the scenic landscape, we'll encounter mesmerizing temples, tranquil bamboo forests, lush rice paddy fields, and the UNESCO-listed Subak irrigation system in Tampaksiring - a world cultural heritage site. A unique opportunity awaits us as we delve into the tropical forest to gather wild vegetables, which will be a delightful addition to our lunch.
Savor a sumptuous Family Lunch, thoughtfully set amidst the picturesque rice paddy fields. Delight in local food prepared with love through traditional Balinese home cooking.
This trekking experience caters to all levels, and while some trails may present challenges, your guide will be there to assist you throughout. Embrace this wonderful opportunity to stay active, learn about the evolution of Balinese Hinduism, and immerse yourself in the beauty of the landscape while breathing in the fresh air. Gain first-hand experience of authentic Balinese life during this enriching adventure.
