Venture into the mountainous landscapes of the Batur Geopark in Northeast Bali. At Kintamani village descent into the massive volcanic caldera towards Batur Lake. Here, get on a custom-build off-road vehicle and continue the journey with an experienced driver and certified mountain guide into a large field consisting of frozen lava resembling a moon landscape. Get off the vehicle to discover a large lava cave. The way leads further to the sites of the 1964 and 1864 eruptions. The drive opens up scenic panoramas of black lava formations and the cone of Mt. Batur. Leave the lava field for the shores of Batur Lake towards a natural hot spring. Take the opportunity to soak and relax in in these naturally therapeutic waters.

Lunch is served at a local restaurant on the rim of the caldera with view onto Mt Batur and Batur Lake. The nearby geo-museum offers opportunity to deepen the knowledge about the geology learnt during the exploration drive. Batur Global Geopark Museum explains the geology of Mt.
