Leave in the morning and drive to Aik Berik Village in Central Lombok, within the Rinjani Geopark, an area known for its stunning natural beauty and two beautiful waterfalls, Benang Stokel and Benang Kelambu, located just about a kilometre apart. What sets these waterfalls apart is that, rather than cascading down rugged cliffs, the water flows gracefully through lush greenery, creating a mesmerising natural spectacle. Begin the adventure towards Benang Stokel, meaning ‘a bundle of thread’, which features a two-tiered waterfall with each drop measuring approximately 20 metres high. Fed by a river originating from Mount Rinjani, its inviting pool at the base provides the perfect spot to splash around and enjoy the refreshing waters.

Next, continue to the enchanting Benang Kelambu, which cascades down in two to three levels. Its name, Kelambu, meaning ‘curtain’, perfectly describes the way the waterfall is framed by dense foliage, resembling a draped curtain over a window. Sourced directly from a natural spring on Mount Rinjani, the water is crystal clear and even considered safe for drinking.

Then proceed to Sukarara Village, renowned for its exquisite Lombok-style Songket weaving, where visitors can observe the intricate process firsthand in the homes of local artisans.

The last stop before returning to the hotel is to the oldest pottery centre on the island, serving as a cornerstone of cultural heritage and tradition. In Penujak Pottery Village, witness nearly every stage of pottery-making, from shaping the clay to firing and finishing. Each piece is uniquely handcrafted, reflecting the village's rich artisanal legacy.  (L)
