Spend a day exploring the island of Bali in a VW 181 convertible alongside a professional guide. Stop along the way visiting local villages, soaking in the landscapes, learning about the flora and fauna and visiting traditional temples. Wrap up the experience with a visit to Jatiluwih for lunch and a leisurely one-hour trek through terraced rice fields.
Programme Details
Begin this West Bali day trip with an early morning pick up from the hotel. Drive alongside a guide to to Taman Ayun, one of the island’s most beautiful temples. After visiting Taman Ayun, continue through beautiful countryside and small surrounding villages with an uphill drive to Bratan Lake. At 1200 meters above sea level, this volcanic lake offers some truly unforgettable panoramic views.
Continue on to the water temple of Pura Ulun Danu, founded in the 17th century. One of the most photographed temples in Bali, this temple is dedicated to Dewi Danu, the goddess of water, and features a beautiful thatched Hindu Meru which appears to float on the lake. This temple is also home to a Buddhist shrine and a small mosque.
After the temple explorations, return south via the UNESCO heritage listed rice fields of Jatiluwih where lunch will be served at a local restaurant, followed by a leisurely 1 hour trek through the terraced rice fields. While soaking in the views, learn all about the subak style of rice production in Bali.
Following this West Bali day trip, return to the hotel for a well deserved rest. (L)

- During Nyepi Day, an important religious day in Bali, which falls on 11 March 2024, visitors are not allowed to leave the premises of hotels from 06:00 until 06:00 on the following day (24 hour). The airport will not operate any flights and all public activities will cease but hotels will remain operate with limited staff
