Discover the Tengger tribe, an indigenous group in the Bromo region that uses their local knowledge to protect and conserve the environment. Taste delicacies from their ancestral heritage and delve in their cultural life alongside other ethnic groups in a village.

Programme Details

:

Depart around 08:30 from the hotel in Ngadisari Sukapura, transferring to Ngadas village with a guide and driver in a private jeep. The road to Ngadas village takes about 1 hour of driving, passing through the sea sand and the savanna in the Bromo Caldera.

Be welcome by a local resident who will then accompany you for a walking tour in the village. 

Discover the locations of worshipers of many faiths while hearing the locals' stories; visit a shrine, a mosque, and a Hindu temple where the Tenggerese worship, demonstrating the tolerance of the community.

Walking tours continue with recognizing their farming method in the highland, as most of the villagers are farmers. Chilli, cabbage and potatoes are their main crops.

Savour a special menu of authentic Tengger tribe cuisine with a local family to cap off the village tour; take in the warmth and camaraderie of Tengger tribe village. (L)

- The itinerary can be done in reverse (starting from lunch first and onward); it depends on the time of commencement. 
- Our rates are net and quoted in American dollars (USD), however some services (like transportation, guide fees, entrance fees, some activities,  meals, air tickets and train tickets and sometimes accommodations) are based on local prices in Indonesian Rupiah in (IDR). In the case of a major change in the exchange rate (5% or more) between the Indonesian Rupiah and the American dollar (USD), we reserve the right to correct our quotes to align our rates and revise the value of the American dollar (USD). 
- All rates are based on the current gasoline price. Should the gasoline price increase by more than 10% we would readjust transfer rates with a 30 days prior notice.
- Children aged between 2 and 12 years at the time of travel will receive a 15% discount off the Adult Price.
- All language guides other than English subject to availability during high season July-September.
- During the important religious festival of Idul Fitri, which falls on 20th-21st March 2026, significant travel activity is expected across the country, particularly in Java, leading to potentially long traffic jams. Overland travel is not advised during the two weeks from 13th-28th March 2026. During this period, service availability may be limited, tour guides could be returning home, and some restaurants may be closed.
