Programme Details

:

Meet the guide and cycling captain at the hotel for a briefing about the bike ride around Borobudur area.

Note: Alternatively, the ride can begin in front of the main entrance to Borobudur Temple, in which case a private vehicle transfer will be arranged.

Start pedalling, passing through a busy urban area before turning onto quieter backstreets. Along the way, stop  alongside large rice fields with their gold or green colors depending on the season, where the guide will explain how farmers cultivate the crops.

The ride continues along scenic backroads and through villages, offering fresh air and scenes of local life. Stop to chat with farmers cultivating chilis or, depending on the season, participate in the harvesting of cassava.

Cycling continues passing through bamboo forest and hidden woods with a short break near the banks of the Progo River.

At the end of the 2-3 hour ride, stop at a local warung  - a small, local eatery- to sample Java’s famous fried bananas and steamed cassava  and enjoy young coconuts.

Following the snack break, transfer back to the hotel with a guide in a private, air-conditioned vehicle. (-)
