Explore Balinese life through spiritual practices and cultural immersion, a full day experience in the eastern part of Bali. First off to Besakih Temple, known as Bali's mother temple, the majestic temple is a sprawling complex of at least 86 clan temples and shrines nestled on the slopes of Mount Agung. Its elevated position provides breathtaking panoramic views of the surrounding landscape, encompassing rice paddies, rolling hills, majestic mountains, and flowing streams. Uniquely, Besakih welcomes devotees of all castes, making it a sacred pilgrimage site for Balinese Hindus.

Savor a hearty lunch  at the local restaurant nestled amidst the captivating landscapes of rice-fields and Mt. Agung as the backdrop.

Proceed to a Griya Ulon, one of the priest's houses. Dress into traditional Balinese attire, a welcome blessing awaits, a heartfelt greeting imbued with prayers and positive wishes. It serves to warmly greet individuals entering a new phase or environment. To express gratitude, seek blessings, and maintain spiritual balance, 'canang' or offerings are created through a process called Offering Making. We will participate with this practice and learn the philosophy behind the process.

Then immerse yourself in the rich cultural heritage of Bali through Balinese Dance Lessons. These lessons provide comprehensive training in traditional dance, focusing on the symbolic language of hand gestures, eye expressions, and body movements, all synchronized with the captivating rhythms of gamelan music. Enjoy local snacks in between the activity or before returning back to your hotel. (L)
