Uncover the secrets of Balinese herbal medicine with an insightful half day herbal medicine tour. Transfer to the countryside of Ubud and meet with a qualified herbalist for an educational walk.

Spend around three hours walking through rice fields and ravines, gardens and forests. Stop to see the abundant selection of herbs growing in the area such as hibiscus, vanilla, patchouli, turmeric and citronella. The herbalist will explain how these ingredients are used in traditional medicine, both for internal use and topical application. Gain insight into the purification practices of Bali which are often carried out in conjunction with herbal healing treatments. There are also many varieties of plants along the way which also are used in natural healing.

After this bit of morning exercise, it is time for lunch. In keeping with the health theme, enjoy a delicious meal at one of Bali’s organic restaurants. Nourish the body with fresh, chemical-free dishes while reflecting on the new knowledge gained from this specialist-led tour.

Following lunch, return to the hotel for a chance to relax or continue to explore Ubud’s surroundings independently. (L)
