Depart from the hotel with a local guide and drive to Sidemen, a village famous for its rice field views. Upon arrival, jump right into village life with a visit to a local house. Witness weavers at work, creating beautiful textiles by using ancient techniques passed down through the generations.
Then it is time to explore Sidemen’s famed rice paddies. Take a soft trek, ranging from 30 to 90 minutes, crisscrossing through the verdant fields to enjoy the remarkable natural beauty of Bali. Along the way, the guide will explain the life cycle of rice and the important role it plays in Bali’s culinary culture.
After this scenic trek, get a closer look at Bali’s agrarian traditions. Roll up the sleeves and head into the fields to help the farmers plant seedlings, harvest crops or plough the fields. Continue through the village for more fabulous hands-on experiences. Learn to make temple offerings, a regular part of local life for the spiritual people of Bali. Try climbing a tree to collect coconuts or help in the workshop of a blacksmith.
Then join a local chef to help prepare authentic Balinese dishes like sambal, the island’s beloved hot sauce, satay grilled meats and laklak, a sweet dessert. Sit down for a delicious lunch of these home cooked items and other fresh, traditional dishes.
Say farewell to the hosts of Sidemen after lunch and travel to Besakih, a sacred temple situated on the slopes of Gunung Agung volcano. Spend time exploring this majestic site and enjoying the surroundings, learning about the temple’s history and the Hindu beliefs that are ingrained in Balinese society.

- During Nyepi Day, an important religious day in Bali, which falls on 22-Mar-23 and 11-Mar-24, visitors are not allowed to leave the premises of hotels from 06:00 until 06:00 on the following day (24-hour). The airport will not operate any flights and all public activities will cease but hotels will remain operate with limited staff.
