The experience today features a relaxed walking tour through a village situated nearby Borobudur Temple. The tour begins arrival at the meeting point, where a local guide provides a brief introduction and essential information. Once briefed, it will set off on a gentle stroll through the village.
Engage in an interactive gamelan workshop at a traditional limasan residence. During the session, a local guide will introduce the fundamental notes and techniques for striking the metal bars, enabling guests to perform simple traditional melodies.
The tour continues to the Tiban Mosque, a site of remarkable cultural exchange established around 1875 that overlooks the tranquil Progo River. This mosque is primarily distinguished by its architectural harmony of Hindu and Islamic influences. By merging temple and mosque aesthetics, its original structure serves as a testament to the enduring spirit of tolerance and cultural fusion in Java.
Participate in a creative workshop focused on coloring paper puppets. This engaging activity introduces wayang as an Indonesian cultural heritage while promoting patience and fostering creativity. Once completed, the unique creation can be kept as a special souvenir from the village.

-Our rates are net and quoted in American dollars (USD), however some services (like transportation, guide fees, entrance fees, some activities, meals, air tickets, train tickets and some accommodation) are based on local prices in Indonesian Rupiah (IDR). In the case of a major change in the exchange rate (5% or more) between the IDR and the USD, we reserve the right to correct our quotes to align our rates and revise the value of the USD.
-All rates are based on the current gasoline price. Should the gasoline price increase by more than 10% we would readjust transfer rates with a 30 day prior notice
-All language guides other than English are subject to availability during the high season (July - September).
-During the important religious festival of Idul Fitri, which falls on 9-10 March 2027 and 26-27 February 2028, significant travel activity is expected across the country, especially within Java. Travelling will be extremely challenging due to heavy traffic. Expect significant delays and congestion on roads, trains and flights. You might find limited-service availability, as some tour guides could be returning home and certain restaurants may be closed. The busiest travel periods will be just before and immediately after the holiday. Given the anticipated severe disruptions, we strongly advise against overland travel from 12-27 March 2026 and 2-17 March 2027.
