Highlights of Fayoum Oasis

Departing from Cairo, the journey begins with a 100-kilometre drive to Fayoum. The first stop is Wadi El Rayan, a protected area since 1989, to see the waterfalls and enjoy a felucca ride on the water. A brief stop at Modawara Mountain provides the perfect opportunity for photography before continuing deep into the desert.

Arrive at Wadi Al-Hitan, also known as the Valley of the Whales, which is a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Here, witness 40 million-year-old whale skeletons preserved in the sands, offering a unique look into evolutionary history. The adventure continues by 4X4 jeep to Magic Lake for a BBQ lunch served amidst the desert scenery.

The afternoon is filled with desert activities including sandboarding and a jeep safari through the surrounding dunes. Before returning to the city, enjoy a visit to Tunis village to observe the local traditional craftsmanship. The day concludes with a drive back to the hotel. (-/L/-)
